Robert has been teaching photography for more than ten years. Starting in the fall of 1995, Robert started teaching Basic photography through Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Division of Lifelong Learning (The old Extension Department). Initially teaching the basics of 35mm film cameras, exposure and some composition. In 1998 the Remote Sensing darkrooms in the Faculty of Engineering came available. In the fall of 1998 Robert started teaching Basic Black & White Darkroom and a few specialized classes in “Portfolio Printing”.
Robert has also taught “Pin Hole” photography as part of the Grade 4 curriculum in Bishop Field Elementary and St. Andrew’s Elementary, and taught an “Art Smarts” program at St. Theresa’s and St. Andrew’s Elementary.
Another subject that Robert has taught is “Digital Photo Management”. Helping businesses, government departments and individuals set-up and manage their collections of photography. This includes “Now, What do I do with all the old film and slides in my collection?” How to setup a searchable database, how to plan an archive and how to protect your digital photo collection.
Robert teaches digital SLR photography, Adobe Photoshop and offers a number of hands-on workshops through the MUN Division of Lifelong Learning. As well, through Henry’s School of Imaging, Robert teaches several short courses including Camera specific and creative imaging sessions.
You can also hire Robert to teach you One-on-One, anything photographic that you want to learn. With more than 25 years as a professional photographer, Robert can teach you on your own time, anything from the basics of how to use your specific camera, how to set up home studio lighting or how to be a wedding photographer. Robert can teach Adobe Photoshop, how to manage and e-mail photos or how to use your scanner and printer.
Robert and his associates are also available for photographic walking and bus tours. These can be anything from an instructional hour-long photo walk around downtown St. John’s to a week-long bus tour photographing icebergs around the northern bays of Newfoundland.
